Real-Time 3D Visualization
Forge — Real-Time Digital Twin
A live digital twin of a smart factory that mirrors real-time sensor data, visualizes throughput bottlenecks and simulates what-if scenarios in a single real-time scene.
Challenge
Operations teams tracked factory performance across disconnected dashboards. Spotting bottlenecks required correlating data mentally, and planning changes meant guesswork.
Objectives
- Visualize the entire line in one real-time scene
- Mirror live sensor data into the 3D model
- Run what-if simulations without affecting production
- Keep the model in sync as the layout changes
Technical Approach
The factory was rebuilt from CAD as a Lumen-lit real-time scene, with every machine bound to its live sensor feed over a streaming bridge. A scenario layer lets operators pause the live feed, inject simulated conditions and watch predicted throughput, heat and stress propagate through the line in real time.
Development
- CAD-to-scene pipeline with Datasmith
- Live sensor data streaming bridge
- Machine state visualization and heat mapping
- What-if scenario injection and prediction layer
- Operator control panel and alerting
- Pixel Streaming delivery to any browser
Key Features
- 01Live 3D mirror of the full production line
- 02Real-time sensor overlays and heat maps
- 03What-if scenario simulation
- 04Bottleneck detection and alerting
- 05Browser access with no install
Technology Stack
Results
- Operators spotted bottlenecks from one view instead of many dashboards
- What-if runs predicted change outcomes before touching the line
- Layout changes reflected by updating the master scene
